The Empty Spaces

Billie Joe- The Main Character:

A long legged, red haired girl who's hands have been mangled by burns. She is depressed, and heartbroken, due to the death of her mother.

Pa- A Major Character:

The father of Billie Joe. He is very distant from her, and cannot seem to get over the fact that his loving wife has passed away.

Ma- A Major Character:

The Mother of Billie Joe, who died in an accident, and was burned. She was dazzling to Billie Joe, who loved her very much.

Mad Dog Craddok- Supporting Character:

Billie Joe's friend. Billie Joe is in love with him, but he is not in love with her.

Louise- Supporting Character:

A Friend of Pa's from School who stays at Billie Joe's house after Ma dies to help out as best as she can.

Franklin- Minor Character:

Billie Joe's little brother, who barely lived a week.

Livie- Minor Character:

Billie Joe's best friend who had to move away.
